Getting Closer

So I have almost exactly one month before I leave on my trip. Each and everyday that goes by I get more and more excited and nervous. This week has been a good week for me. Well except for the mistake on my backpack. On my last post I believe I told you about my pack coming in. Well it came in on Monday, but it was the wrong size. Wasn't to happy about that. I sent it back and hope to get the right one by tomorrow. Which is just awesome. I plan on filling it with whatever I can and just walking around with it on. I also was able to do some shopping for some other supplies. I have decided to go with the MSR Miniworks EX water filter. It should be awesome. I also found the jacket I want. Even at a $100 off it's still $200. It is a North Face Gortex jacket.

The best part about my trip so far has been the support that people have given me. Within about a month I have raised about 3/4 of my funds. The Lord is really blessing me with a great group of friends and family who love and support me. I've also had people donate extra to buy me some supplies.

One other thing that is coming up is that I'm going to California for a week with my family for a wedding. I hope to break in my new pack while I'm at. Should be an awesome time in L.A. and hanging out on the beach. Well that is all I've got for know, how to get back to everyone soon.

Supplies

I'm starting to get my supplies in. The other day I got clothes. Me and my parents went to a few different stores. I feel like I need a few more things, but I won't really examine that until closer to me leaving. Plus I hear that clothes are really cheap where I'm going. So what I don't get here I can for sure pick up over there. I did purchase my backpack today as well. I've been looking for a few months and finally found my pack. It's a Osprey Aether 70. It normally runs at $260 but I was able to get it for $154. Thank you REI-Outlet. With the savings on the pack I will be able to get my water filter. This is where I need you help. I've been looking really hard for about 3 weeks now at filters and can't find the one I want. I've narrowed it down to 2 options. The MSR Miniworks and the Katadyn Hiker Pro. So if you have any advice on those or any other water filter let me know.
