Old Delhi

So I have been super busy the last few days with all sorts of things. From training to getting lost in Delhi. Since my last post a lot has happened. I landed in Delhi early Monday morning around 7:00 am. After getting my bags and going through customs I was finally hitting Delhi around 8:30. I met my friends here and we headed to the house. The traffic here is crazy. Signs mean didn't squat and neither lines in the road. If you can fit whatever you're driving into a whole you take it. Sometimes it would be 5 cars a across, plus some motorcycles and bikes, in a 3 lane road. If you've ever been in Delhi traffic you know what I mean. It is a blast though. I hear it's no fun unless you hit a car, bus, bike, or even person. I have some other adventures in the streets of Delhi. From getting lost after dark to shoving 4 large Americans into a vehicle designed for 2 small Indians. A little tight. I've bought corn cooked over open coals, had some incredible chai tea, and had the best food ever momos (I think that is spelled wrong). I've got to see some pretty cool sites as well. The lotus temple is an amazing place. There so many amazing temples and other places of worship. I've got to make some great friends here with some of the people I flew over with. I'm starting to hear certain words here and there that I understand, which is helping when giving directions to places. Tonight was a great night though. A group of us decided to go out and have some fun, with permission of course. We ventured North to Old Delhi. We took an auto rickshaw for about 30 minutes to connect up to the metro (subway) where we took it into an old part of Delhi. The plan was to find some lunghi, man skirts. That search turned to finding a cloth store where I bought some silk fabric and am having some hand tailored shirts made. I'll post up some pictures when i get a Indian fort. It was built in the 1700s. The plan is that when we go back Friday night to get our shirts we're going to take a tour of the fort. Made a great connection with a guard there so hoping for some special commitment. After getting home, and stopping at a McDonald's for one of the girls, we walked down the street and grabbed some butter chicken and rice, one of my favorite meals so far. So far the trip has been amazing and I'm learning a lot about my Father and who He wants me to be. I want to thank all of you for the love and support. I can feel everyone lifting me up over here.

  1. I loved Old Dehli, Its incredible to think how many people live in such a crowded space. check out the electrical wiring on some of the posts. it looks like a birds nest. "Indian safe" I'm sure though. Love you bro. Lifting you up daily - Cole
